Academic Calendar

  • Aug. 13-14  -  Orientation and advising for new graduate students
  • Aug. 15-16  -  Orientation for new international students
  • Aug. 16       -  Transfer Welcome Weekend and advising for new undergraduate transfer students
  • Aug. 17       -  Undergraduate halls open for first-year student move-in beginning at 9:00 a.m.
  • Aug. 17-20  -  Welcome Weekend and advising for first-year undergraduate students
  • Aug. 19       -  Undergraduate halls open for upperclass student move-in beginning at 9:00 a.m.
  • Aug. 20       -  Classes begin for Law and Graduate Business and Saint Mary's College
  • Aug. 21       -  Classes begin for Notre Dame
  • Aug. 28       -  Last day for all class changes
  • Sept. 3        -  Labor Day; classes are in session
  • Sept. 21      -  Last day to drop class at Saint Mary's College

Student Activities

Aug. 24: Flick on the Field

  • 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
  • Notre Dame Stadium

"Rudy” returns to the big screen at Notre Dame Stadium when the University hosts its second annual Flick on the Field. This free community event features a showing of the sports movie on the stadium video board. Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. Guest can enter through Gate A, and students with wrist bands must enter through the Rockne Gate. Students may bring blankets on the field, but food and drink are prohibited.

Aug. 28: Student Activities Night

  • 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Notre Dame Stadium Concourse  

Activities Night, sponsored by the Student Activities Office, is an annual event open for students interested in joining one or more of our 300+ undergraduate clubs and organizations at Notre Dame. These groups include academic, athletic, cultural, performing arts, social service and special interest clubs, student government organizations, businesses and media groups.

Sept. 5: Fall Career Expo

  • 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
  • Notre Dame Stadium Concourse

Notre Dame's largest career fair provides employers the opportunity to market their jobs and internships to undergraduate and graduate students from all academic colleges in one venue. Please note the event will take place partially outdoors, plan appropriately. The Center for Career Development provides and hosts on-campus interview space for employers to interview students on the day after the fair.
