Spirituality

The University of Notre Dame offers students an outstanding academic educational experience within a vibrant faith community.

Department of Theology - All Notre Dame students are supported in their learning and spiritual formation through courses they take in the Department of Theology.  The department is also home to the Masters in Sacred Music Program which has events that parents and students can attend.

Catholic Intellectual Life - At the University of Notre Dame, an Arts and Letters liberal education is also a Catholic liberal education.  This Catholic dimension of our identity shapes our educational efforts through the formal study of theology and philosphy and through the cultivation of Catholic intellectual tradition within each department.

Campus Ministry—Campus Ministry at the University of Notre Dame promotes, encourages, and engages all aspects of faith life on campus. At a university where Catholic-Christian faith is proudly and seamlessly woven into all that we do, Campus Ministry coordinates Masses, spiritual activities, and programs that seek to bring students, faculty, and staff into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. The Campus Ministry Office is located at 319 Coleman-Morse.

Institute for Church Life—The Institute for Church Life is the heart of the University of Notre Dame's direct service to the Church. This service reaches parishes and dioceses, as well as the whole spectrum of Church leaders—bishops, clergy, religious, and laity—in the form of theological education, pastoral scholarship and research, and faith formation. The Institute for Church Life is located in Geddes Hall.

Each summer Notre Dame students serve as Mentors in Faith for ND VIsion, a program for high school students, offered through the Institute for Church Life. ND Vision has a blog, "Full of Grace,"  the content of which is primarily the witness talks given by the Mentors in Faith.

The Basilica of the Sacred Heart—Mass schedules, tours, and information about this beautiful and sacred house of worship.

Pray ND—A special website that offers prayer, service, and the opportunity to request prayer and Mass intentions for students and parents.

Residence Hall Chapels - There are 28 residence hall chapels on campus.  Each undergraduate residence hall has a chapel, with Keenan and Stanford sharing a chapel.  In addition, several academic buildings also have chapels.
